legs with that kind of foreshortening are tricky. i really enjoy the colors, though i want some more of the green from her helmet. perhaps in the background. and just my opinion but i think the shadows could be a lot darker. like if you check out in star wars or 2001 a space odyssey they have really dramatic lighting in space, it would go well with the graphic orange and blues. i really love the helmet and face as well as the blue wrinkles on the front of the suit.

i love your sculpts. i've just recently gotten into zbrush. Do you retopologize or stick with hi-poly sculpts?

this is really great. i love looking at the progression of the design on your page. what did you use for rendering? the red glass looks great

datamouth responds:

thanks SPace!
i used Modo501 for both modeling and rendering. Modo has an amazing rendering system.

ooo this is nice. the character is dope and the buildings are solid. texturing is good too. i'm not a huge fan of the lighting. also the chain-link fence is a little weird, the tops don't make sense and it doesn't make sense that the posts are super sharp rectangles. in fact all your hard edges are razor sharp. try sub-d'ing the models and making the corner edges tighter to create sharp edges without them being so razor sharp. can you post a wireframe for the character?

mascerrado responds:

thanks a lot 4 your advice! yeah, you're right, everything except the character is not hypernurbs.
er... where should i post the wireframe? sorry..

mecha-welsh 4 life

rad

you should switch some more things up, like you did with the belt otherwise its very clearly symmetrically modeled

i dig this a lot

good complementary colors, dope white outline. the atmosphere is kinda ambiguous and i think the lip biting could be more exaggerated.

Lundsfryd responds:

Thanks man.. You are probably right about the lip. This was mostly an experiment with colors and gradients though.

pretty neat

i'd like to see bodies on em, or at least have them mounted over a fireplace. The 1st and 3rd are the best imo. The last row has the worst color scheme. Color-blind people would have a tough time looking at it, reds and greens like that are hard for eyes to pull apart.

torithefox responds:

I'm currently making a body for the 3rd. The last was very experimental. I dont really like the colors either aha

sick

i really like the details like the grooves on the knobs, are those geometry or bump map? i'd really like to see the wireframes of your guitars. one critique would be the lighting. i see that you are trying to do a bright "heavenly" kind of light, but the wash out is pretty ugly in my opinion. plus you could do without the random caustic under the tuning knobs and the really black shadow in the little handle cutout.

Whistler3D responds:

Thanks!
And yes, the details in the knobs are bump maps. I burn up the lights a little to much. The shadows and the reflect in the floor dont look as I expected...

a print of this

would really tie the room together...

cut your losses, lock all the doors and burn the house down
